DRY SUIT DIVER COURSE
Despite the cooler waters, the UK offers spectacular diving with more ship wrecks per mile than anywhere else in the world, soft corals, kelp forests, basking sharks, seals and much more.
Dry suits allow you to dive all year round in the UK and any other part of the world, from the extremes of ice diving in the Arctic (see our March 2008 Artic Ice Diving Expedition), to the more temperate waters of the Mediterranean.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The PADI Dry Suit Diver course teaches you the knowledge and skills you will need to dive safely in a dry suit. You gain experience of using a dry suit, practice the different techniques involved and examine the different considerations of owning and using a dry suit. For those thinking of extending their current UK diving season or purchasing a dry suit for the first time this is a must do course.
The course takes 2 days to complete with a combination of Academics (independent study – two knowledge reviews), a Confined Water dive (swimming pool orientation) and two Open Water dives.
When you sign up for the course you will be given a course pack which consists of the PADI Dry Suit Diver manual and a DVD. Before the Confined Water dive you will be asked to watch the DVD and to read your course manual completing the two knowledge reviews.
The PADI Dry Suit Diver course takes place over two days. |
